The LIAISON® analyzer combines a flexible operating module with a broad menu of assays and leads to high efficiency due to its long walk-away time.
The possibility to run up to 15 different assays at a time provides rational everyday testing even with a small number of samples.
The LIAISON® Analyzer is easy to use due to its touch-screen monitor, clear software structure and reagent Integral which contains all assay-specific reagents.
Designed for immunoassay testing, LIAISON® Analyzer adopts a “Flash” chemiluminescence technology (CLIA) with a paramagnetic microparticle solid phase (MP).
Efficient from the start, the LIAISON® Analyzer allows the continuous loading of samples, reagents and the workload may be processed in random access or batch mode.
All assay methods are based on an internal Master Curve with 2-point calibration.
Autodilution, rerun and reflex testing are performed by operator request and automatically performed by the system. The LIAISON® system also has a STAT function in order to improve the efficiency of the laboratory.
DiaSorin offer a wide range of tests on the LIAISON® Analyzer.
LIAISON® XL is a fully automated chemiluminescence analyzer, performing complete sample processing (sample pre-dilutions, sample and reagent dispensing, incubations, wash processes, etc.) as well as measurement and evaluation.
The innovative features of the system allow LIAISON® XL to improve efficiency in the immunoassay laboratories.
- Fully automated solution
- Quality of results
- Flexible configuration
- High efficiency
Assay technology
LIAISON® XL is a fully automated chemiluminescence analyzer, performing the complete sample processing. LIAISON® XL adopts a “Flash” chemiluminescence technology (CLIA) with paramagnetic microparticle solid phase. The same technology is also used on the LIAISON® analyzer offering a perfect compatibility between the systems.
Reagents Area
The reagents area is temperature controlled. The loading bay for reagents allows continuous loading of the LIAISON® XL system of Integrals or Ancillary reagent. For clarity, an LED below each lane indicates the relevant usage status. Up to 25 integrals and up to 4 ancillary reagents can be loaded at the same time. Integrals can be loaded directly in one of the 25 lanes according to the specifications of the LIAISON® XL, multiple of the same Integral can be present in the reagent area at the same time if needed.
Reagent Integrals are managed with a “Quick Release” feature and are released by the system as soon as the requested process is completed. Starter reagents, responsible for initiating the chemiluminescent reaction, are available on board in a dedicated area and continuosly monitored (lot number, quantity available) and allow continuous loading.
Reagents integral
The reagent Integral contains all assay specific reagents required to perform the assay. All reagents are ready-to-use and includes the calibrator into the Integral; however there are few exceptions with calibrators supplied as lyophilized component (but in the Integral box) and the HCV assay that require an Ancillary reagent. All the reagents are identified to and monitored by the system. All information concerning number of tests, lot number, stability on board and/ or calibration validity are automatically updated onto the system. Due to the temperature control of the reagent area, most reagent Integrals have a long on board stability.
Disposable sample tips/cuvettes
No sample carry over is observed on the LIAISON® XL due to adoption of single-use sample tips and single use reaction module (cuvettes). The quantity of cuvettes and sample tips on board is monitored by the instrument software. Due to the large storage of disposables on board, the LIAISON® XL permits a extended walk away time.
Wash solution and waste
LIAISON® XL has a designated area for wash solutions and waste materials (solid and liquid). All containors can accessed and removed throughout use of the instrument.
Sample area
The samples are loaded using 10 racks, each allowing space for 12 samples for a total of 120 samples in continuous loading. Different sized sample tubes can be loaded according with LIAISON® XL software indications.
All racks and samples are identified via a bar code reader and any identification problems (mis-read, etc) are reported to the user.
The “quick release” feature allows the sample in the sampling process rack to be released by the system as soon as it is completed.
The quality of all samples are monitored, any sample containing clots or with insufficient volume will be flagged.
Software
LIAISON® XL is easy to use with functional icons that help the operator. All the activities planned and scheduled are continuously monitored and all the results, sample and calibrators and quality controls are traced. The software informs the operator about the status of the systems (Stand by; Ready; Run) and gives the user an estimation of the consumables needed to perform the number of the tests requested. The operator is allowed to increase the consumable volume before starting the instrument. On every screen-page there is the Help feature, that offers the operator an online operator guide. The LIAISON® XL is connectable to LIS (Laboratory Information System) and offers a remote service access with direct access from our central service to the system.
LIAISON® XL performance
The throughput is optimized by splitting the pipetting phases of reagents and samples into different cycles. The innovative technical solution used on the LIAISON® XL, allows double washing capacity and allows the incubator to host up to 80 cuvettes. The optimization of the assay process maintains the throughput of the system as high as possible.

It is generally known that HbA1c (glycohemoglobin) is grouped into A1a, A1b, L-A1c, and sA1c categories according to the kind of glucose so combined. Measurement of HbA1c is widely utilized today as an index for diabetic screening tests and also as a therapeutical index for the long-term blood glucose control of diabetes mellitus. HLC-723G8 is an automated, high performance liquid chromatography system designed to measure HbA1c accurately and rapidly. It is also used for quantitative and qualitative analysis of HbF, which cannot be easily measured by conventional methods. Therefore, highly reliable data can therefore be obtained by utilizing this system.
